HARRISBURG – Rep. Andrew Kuzma (R-Allegheny/Washington) today announced an $862,000 Local Share Account grant from gaming revenues was awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) to Elizabeth Township for a landslide repair.

Act 71 of 2004 provides for the distribution of gaming revenues through the CFA to support projects of public interest within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

“Forest Hill Road was built on a coal seam that has caused its condition to deteriorate over time and result in the road being closed,” Kuzma said. “Without much-needed repairs done, Smithdale could become cutoff from the rest of the area as there is only one ingress and egress at this time. By restoring this road, area residents will not become possibly landlocked and trapped. I’m happy to support this worthwhile and important project.”

The funding will be used to help pay for landslide and road repairs on Forest Hill Road.

The 39th Legislative District includes Elizabeth, Forward and South Park townships and Elizabeth, Jefferson Hills, Pleasant Hills and West Elizabeth boroughs in Allegheny County; and Union and part of Carroll townships, Finleyville and New Eagle boroughs, and the city of Monongahela in Washington County.
